Description
A Wood Fire, Burned Properly.
The HIVE HEAT 12 kW is HUUM’s compact wood burning stove, built for sauna rooms between 6 and 13 m3. It gives you the fire, the sound and the smell that no electric heater can, in a body small enough for a home sauna.
What sets it apart is how it burns. Combustion air is drawn in from above, which holds a stronger flame and burns off the wood gases a less efficient stove sends straight up the flue.

Key Features
Cast Iron Where the Fire Is
The furnace door is cast iron, the part that takes the most heat and the most handling. It is built to be opened a few thousand times and cleaned with a brush.
Around it the body is stainless steel, and the stove is treated with natural oils only, with no chemical additives.

Air Fed From Above
Combustion air enters at the top of the firebox rather than underneath. The flame stays strong, the wood burns right through, and the gases a cheaper stove loses up the flue are burned instead.
That is what earns it BimSchV II, the German standard for wood burning stoves.

90 kg of Stone Above the Fire
The basket carries 90 kg of stones, so once the stove is up to temperature the heat comes off the stone rather than straight off the steel.
The result is the softer steam HUUM is known for, coming from a wood fire rather than an element.

Why the HIVE HEAT
A wood fire is the reason a lot of people want a sauna in the first place. The trade off is usually a big plain steel box that dominates a small room.
The HIVE HEAT uses the same cage design as the electric HUUM heaters, so it reads as part of the room, and it is sized for a sauna you would build in a backyard rather than a lodge.
COMPLETE COMBUSTION
Air from above keeps the burn hot enough to consume the gases instead of venting them.
CAST IRON DOOR
The one part that takes the real punishment is made to be opened for years.
90 KG STONE BASKET
Enough stone above the firebox to carry the heat and soften the steam.

The Fire Is Half the Reason
Splitting the wood, lighting it and waiting while the room comes up is part of the ritual, not a chore to be engineered away. The HIVE HEAT just makes sure none of that wood is wasted.
